Limerick Civic Trust is a self-funding charity, which initiates and undertakes a programme of projects for the general improvements of Limerick’s environment in conjunction with local authorities, state agencies and all the sectors of Limerick’s commercial, professional, industrial and community life, all of whom share a common vision of the betterment of Limerick.

There are three key components to what the Limerick Civic Trust do:

Conservation & Preservation

This work includes restoring derelict properties that are often gone beyond preservation in their present state. They are usually large scale projects commanding substantial time and financial commitments.

The Limerick Civic Trust engages in projects that make sites around Limerick more attractive, enjoyable and distinctive. Whether it’s improving or maintaining a graveyard, river walk, community garden or city street or supporting community projects, our work aims to promote civic pride.

Creating a better understanding of our heritage through new information, advice and education. This is achieved through researching unpublished material, publishing books, leaflets and maps, and organising walking tours, courses and on-the-job training for our Community Employment scheme workers to assist with long term employment.
