We are delighted to present an evening with longtime member of Limerick Civic Trust, Cian O’Carroll, on the life and music of Limerick Soprano, Catherine Hayes.

Catherine Hayes (1818 -1861) was born at 4 Patrick Street, Limerick to a family in poor circumstances – her father was a bandsman and her mother a domestic servant. Against all the odds, she realised her ambition to sing in the great opera houses of the world.
The tribute to Catherine will include narrative, musical items and images.
Musical snatches of Catherine’s repertoire, recorded by modern singers will be included.
